O Jerusalem, wash the evil from your heart and be saved. How long will you harbor wicked thoughts? Jer. 4:14

The words paint a graphic picture as the narrator tells of the loving partner who painfully watches as the one closest to his heart commits adultery, again and again. He waits for his beloved to return to him but instead the beloved turns to a seemly endless successions of casual affairs to satisfy her own lust. Is this some pornographic movie, some X rated late night program? Not at all it is the story of Israel and Judah.
